Are electric vans any good? Ford E-Transit in-depth review, loaded and unloaded efficiency & range.

From RSymons RSEV.

Some vans cover a high mileage up and down the motorway each day BUT many do not. They are only used locally and actually do not cover many miles at all. In this case, switching to an electric van could well be the way forward. Some people assume a range of 150 miles isn’t enough, but how often do you really do more than that in a day? Most do not and therefore a charge each night or once a week will be all they need to do for running their electric van.

It has taken a while for electric vans and commercial vehicles to make mass production across manufacturers but now we are seeing more and more on the market.
– So are they any good? for most people, YES! not many vans cover many miles!
– Do they drive nicely? YES excellent
– Are they powerful enough? – For sure and with loads of torque from electric motors they are perfect for heavy work.
– Does weight change the range? Yes – tested in this video.
– Are they expensive? Yes, but not much more than a diesel version
– Will it save me money? Yes, running costs should be much lower, especially if you need to use it in congestion zone areas they are becoming pretty essential!
– Worth also checking if you buy one in the 2023/24 tax year you should be able to claim business corporation tax relief
– Is the payload ok? Different versions have different ratings but electric vans can be up to 4250kg on a normal driving licence we believe. (usually 3500kg restricted)
– How much does charging cost? – in the video..! :-). depends on where you charge and what price you pay for electric of course. For many businesses, you wouldn’t even notice the extra on your electric bill!

And in this video I don’t just share my review, I ask a number of people to test it out and let me know what they think. people who drive vans every day!
