If you want to use your smartphone for navigation, calls, messages and WhatsApp, you’ll need Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The software built into most new car infotainment systems allows you to seamlessly connect to your car and in many cases offers more functionality than the car’s original system.
Join our tech guru Tomi Adebayo (aka @GadgetsBoy) he takes a deep dive into both systems to see which offers the best features. Should you switch handsets and operating systems to get the smoothest in-car experience? Does Apple or Google do the best job of connecting your favourite apps to your car?
As always, let us know what you think in the comments below. Check out more of Tomi’s tech explainers on the @Electrifying channel.
