The Ferrari 12Cilindri features Ferrari’s latest V12 engine, the F140HD, an engine family that traces it’s lineage back to the legendary Ferrari Enzo. Of course now, the engine is larger, revs higher, and makes way more power – 830 CV at 9250 RPM from a 6.5L NA V12 that revs up to 9500 RPM. In this review, we’ll cover the engine specs, naming convention, redline requirements, variable length intake trumpets, Active Torque Shaping, and 65º V angle – a complete deep dive into the engine. We’ll also discuss how Ferrari frequently favors emotion in their engineering decision processes, and discuss wheels & tires, as well as the 8-speed transmission. We’ll end the discussion with a brief review of the driving experience of the Ferrari 12Cilindri Spider – on the beautiful coastal roads of Portugal.
