Is it really a Mazda? Mazda6e first drive and review

From Andrew Till / Mr. EV
.

Four years after Mazda’s first EV — the quirky MX-30 — the company is finally back with something much more serious: the all-electric Mazda6e. Built in partnership with Chinese manufacturer Changan, this sleek saloon aims to combine Japanese design flair and driver-focused handling with modern EV tech.

In this review, I take a deep dive into the 6e’s design, interior quality, dimensions, practicality, charging performance, and driving dynamics, to see whether it still feels like a true Mazda — or if it’s really just a rebadged Chinese EV.

We’ll look at the stylish exterior, minimalist Tesla-like interior, surprisingly practical boot (with measurements), and discuss the two battery options — one with faster charging, the other with longer range.

If you’re wondering whether the Mazda6e can deliver that classic “Zoom-Zoom” spirit in electric form — this video’s for you.
