Slammed JDM Nissan Tokyo Taxi – fitting air ride suspension. This is a long overdue update on Jonny Smith’s project Nissan Cedric ex cab from Japan. In this episode the car’s static sprung suspension is modified to fit air bags from Air Life Performance.

Besides retaining a magic carpet ride quality, the air ride is adjustable and can be fully dropped on the floor for show purposes. Jonny’s JDM Cedric needed custom fabrication, which is where Phil James at The Install Company came in – https://www.facebook.com/TheInstallCompany

The survivor Japanese import Cedric Cab was fitted with Air Lift components (https://www.airliftperformance.com/) and ride height can be adjusted via controller or phone app.

The Cedric Y31 model stopped being made for civilians in the late 1980s, but continued for many years as a fleet car for service use. Jonny has loved the Cedric since he borrowed it to film an LPG piece on Fifth Gear a decade ago. So during lockdown, he bought it off Nissan!
