Our Tesla Cybertruck is officially a year old now! We took delivery in April of 2024, and since then, we have put well over 40k miles on the truck. In that time, I have learned a lot about the truck, both good and bad.

When the Cybertruck finally started delivering to customers who reserved them back in 2019, it was originally only available as a Foundation Series Cybertruck. Like the Refresh Juniper Tesla Model Y Launch Series, this was a fully trimmed out version that came with a premium price.

We went with the dual motor Cybertruck and although the fastest truck in the world, known as the Cyberbeast, would be fun, this has been more than enough power for any needs we have ever had.

We have taken our Cybertruck to the literal end of the world, all the way up north to the Arctic Ocean, not long after taking delivery just to show that it can be done. Along the way we did leave chargers so that those who venture that way after us will have access to charging that we did not.

The Cybertruck is no doubt a polarizing vehicle, and it has been plagued with negative headlines since the day it rolled off the production line. While some criticism is fair, on the whole, the Cybertruck is simply way better than you may think given the way it’s been talked about in media.

The one thing I really would have liked the most is more range. This would have allowed for more feasible towing. Otherwise, it’s simply the price that is too high. Those 2 things are hard to overcome, but beyond that, this truck is able to do things that no other truck can do, and thats not up for debate.
