Tesla Model X PLAID review & UK road test incl efficiency, real range and charging speed.

From RSymons RSEV.

So this is the first time driving the Tesla Model X Plaid on UK roads. We still can’t get a UK supplied car here!!! When? We don’t know, maybe later in 2023 or even 2024?

But thanks to our friends @TundEmagazin and https://custom-tesla.com they kindly drove an example from Germany for us to test on UK roads.

So here’s a summary of my review, what it’s like to drive, how the yoke steering wheel feels and works and my impressions of it. Quieter, smoother, beautiful screen and software all impress.
The yoke works most of the time but roundabouts here in England are a bit more challenging!

And then let’s try efficiency. It’s a big heavy car, not to mention crazy fast, so how efficient is it in the real world? How many miles per kWh of electricity? What’s the real world range on a chilly February day with 20” wheels and Pirelli winter tyres?
I happen to be in convoy with a Porsche Taycan, also on 20” wheels. More of less efficient?

And how’s the charging speed now that it has native CCS and claims 250kwh. Will the 400v battery in this recharge quicker than the renowned charging speed of an 800volt Taycan battery?

We only had a limited time with the car but we do our best to find out and let you know!!

Thanks for watching!
