2025 Hyundai Staria Hybrid – The Spacey Egg-Shaped Minivan We Can’t Have

From Alex on Autos.

For some reason the Hyundai/Kia conglomerate has decided the only minivan for America is the more conventionally styled (and me-too sized) Kia Carnival, and that’s a shame. When I was in South Korea recently I was able to sample the oddly futuristic-looking Staria, Hyundai’s minivan for the rest of the world. What do they get that we can’t? Quite a bit. There’s a hybrid, a diesel, a four-row model (yep you can get an 11-seat minivan). Hyundai also sells a "limousine" version, but the best is the camper. Yep, a factory camper that we can’t get. Hyundai equips the Lounge with a stove, water heater, shower, a tent-top, awnings, the works. Rather sadly, I wasn’t able to snag one of those, but I did spend a day in the hybrid model to see what the rest of the world gets.
