From Alex on Autos.
The Defender has always been considered a unique, capable, and upscale vehicle but wit this new OCTA version the dial has been turned up 11 and some serious excitement has been injected into its DNA. What you get with OCTA is a mild hybrid 4.4l Twin Turbo V8 pushing out 626 horsepower and 553 lb ft of torque. That’s good enough to get you 0-60 in under 4 seconds but there are different performance modes for on road and off road driving. What helps that power get your further faster is a wider track (about 3 inches) and the re-tuned 6D suspension to put together an immensely capable package. 1000 of these are set for the U.S but all of them are spoken for; that means you’ll have to save your at least $160,000 splurge for next year.
