Despite being larger and heavier, the new Mini is still a charmer, and that’s mainly down to exterior styling and a newfound focus on the interior. Parts quality is significantly improved over the previous generation and the infotainment system made me smile every time I got behind the wheel. The BMW connection is still here, but the Germans have done a better job learning English this time around and have re-skinned the software so you’d never know it was BMW pulling the strings. The driving nature? That’s modern German all the way, and that’s not a bad thing… So, should you buy this or a Countryman? Hmmm.
