From Alex on Autos.
Much of RAM’s Heavy Duty trucks dates back to 2009. Specifically the general cab design, frames, suspension, and even the seat frames are over 15 years old at this point. What’s not 15 years old anymore? The transmission lineup, and that’s the big deal for most RAM fans. In addition to a new 8-speed transmission from ZF, RAM has introduced their most powerful Cumins engine so far and they have grafted much of the RAM 1500’s safety, towing, and infotainment tech into the 3/4 and 1-ton trucks. The one thing they have still left out? The front seats, and that’s a bit of a bummer.
