From EV Buyers Guide.
The bZ4x has been in the Toyota lineup for a few years now but it’s fallen well short of the popularity of some other Toyota models. There have been valid reasons for that but Totyota is making some big changes for 2026 to address those concerns on the (now) bZ as well as adding more versions. That’s right, we now have the closely related C-HR and bZ Woodland added to the electric lineup and each of these comes with the same, positive updates we find on the bZ but with their own strengths and niches.
Range is up thanks to a new 74.7 kwh battery and power climbs as well. There’s still an entry model that carries over from last year but every other model will get either 221hp (if FWD) or 338hp (AWD). AWD is standard on the C-HR and bZ Woodland but the latter gets an even bigger power bump up to 375hp. Not only is the Woodland more powerful but it’s also more utility focused with more ground clearance, cargo volume, and the ability to tow up to 3,500 lbs. If you want form over function the C-HR is ready to turn a few heads around town and is likely to be the quickest version of the 3. It’ll be a few months yet but later this year we should be able to drive every available model and soon after you should see them at your local dealer.
