2026 Toyota GR Corolla Review | Big Fun, Small Package

Let me be clear, the GR Corolla isn’t the "best hot hatch" in America, that would be the Volkswagen Golf R IMHO, but if I were spending my own cash… I’d buy the GR. Why? There are a few reasons, but the price tag being $6K less is a big part of the equation. Toyota has been so aggressive with pricing that you can get into an AWD 300 horsepower Corolla for *less* than a FWD Civic Type R. More intriguing than that is how… Un-Toyota the development has been in some ways. Rather than letting the GR sit unaltered for years (like the 86), Toyota has made continual improvements over the years and even more changes for 2026 like more cooling and extra torque.
