Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, Cyber Truck the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot production happens in 2025!
Another very cold day here in central Texas, with wind chills into the 20 degrees F (~ -5 C), windy & cloudy. Hopefully we will begin to transition to more spring-like temperatures next week.

In the video introduction, I provide a shorter version of my standalone video detailing the new central campus support facility construction project now underway on the north end of the site. This will be composed of three new large structures/facilities, two 5-million-gallon water tanks and an extensive underground storm water management system.
In my full standalone video (available on my YouTube site), I also discuss several other major projects coming to Giga Texas in 2025, including a new test track northeast of the cathode plant, the new Harold Green Road on the north end, a new welcome/activity center (now west of the highway near Tesla Road) and the ongoing sewage water intercept and caisson system under construction on the south end. Check out that video for all the details that I am not able to put into this video introduction!
A few of the biggest observations from today are the low production rate of the Model Ys as the final transition from old to new models is made inside on the production lines, although it appears Cybertruck production is moving along at a steady rate of a few hundred a day. I did note s few new Model Ys on the outbound lot, and a dwindling number of older Model Y’s over there as well.
Another big development is on the south end of the electrical switchyard where almost all the new transformers have been placed down the center of the prepared site. One either side of these transformers are the steel beams on the screw-type piles, and I believe this is where Megabucks will be installed and connected to the transformers. As we discussed in the intro, we will see a doubling of the main switchyard itself as part of the central campus support facilities project now underway.
At the central campus site itself, grade work continues with much of the east and central sections nearing the final graded level. Most of the earthwork today was in the northwest side where the remaining hills and ponds from the sand and gravel mining are being erased, fill dirt brought in and preparation to extend the graded area over the entire area as shown and discussed in the video introduction including site plan documents.
