Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and in 2025, the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot!
Although my later flight did not see production and construction was slow due to the aftereffects of all the rains and flooding, I did see some activity getting the stamping press parts on the far SW staging yard loaded onto heavy lift trailers for movement to the factory, the furnaces in the casting section were busy (I could hear the flues in operation), and many casting racks were set out in the north sorting yard, so it looks like the casting section is trying to spool back up ahead of production.

In the video introduction, I discuss a brand-new permit that was approved on 3 July 2025 for something called the Northeast Support Facilities. This is similar in scale to the West Support Facilities permit that was filed about 2 years ago and now encompasses the west Warehouse-on-Wheels (WOW), the End-of-Line (EOL) facility and the outbound logistics lot, the Cybertunnel and many material staging yards.
Unlike these facilities, I discuss some of the likely parts to this new construction project, to include a test track, a new Harold Green Road, and possibly some new logistics facilities.
About 3 years ago, there was activity on the north end large rectangular field to do soil tests, clearing and other pre-construction work related to a permit that was for a north logistics facility. That permit was rescinded and instead, this large field was used for a lot of material storage, particularly what looked loke production equipment, platforms and more.
Recently, most of the equipment and materials in this large field has not been moved away, broken down and sent off for recycling. This highly suggests preparations for some kind of construction in this field, so the timing for the new permit is worth watching to see what happens over the coming few months.
I also reference the recent heavy rains and extensive flooding (sadly, with loss of life of nearly 100 people) in central Texas area around Giga Texas … this was another disaster due to the amount of heavy rains in a concentrated area and in addition to affecting people’s lives in this region, it also affected the factory to some degree.
This partially explains, IMHO, why the start of the week may be going slower than expected for both production and construction. Since this comes off a full week pause in production, how things ramp back to normal is of interest and is something I will continue to keep an eye on and let my viewers know about.
