Tesla’s Autonomous Ride Was Impressive — Except for One Major Mistake!

From Munro Live.

We spent the day testing out autonomous vehicles in the wild. We were invited by Tesla to experience a ride in their Robotaxi in Austin, Texas — and it didn’t disappoint (well, mostly).

After working through a quick hiccup with the Tesla app, we kicked off our first autonomous ride. But things didn’t start off smoothly — you’ll see what went wrong. Thankfully, the next two rides were smooth, confident, and genuinely impressive.

We also tested a Waymo ride, but summoning it through the Uber app was frustrating and not user-friendly. Once we finally got in, the ride was safe and quiet, though we did notice some jerky movements at intersections and stop signs.

Both autonomous systems have their strengths (and quirks), and this side-by-side gave us a glimpse into a driverless future that’s closer than you think.
