The release of the new refresh Model Y Juniper has been extremely well recieved and comes with quite a bit of new features not previously available in the best selling SUV. Just like the refresh Model 3, the refresh Model Y did not originally launch with the performance version available.

Although it was a few months for the Model 3 performance to become available, it ended up being quite a bit more time for the performance Model Y to come. We got a first look at the new trim from our friends in Asian and European markets, who are already taking delivery as of now.

Unfortunately for those here in the United States who want to get their hands on this hot new trim, the first deliveries are expected to begin December 2025, so we still have a couple months to go before anyone will actually take delivery. By then, we will likely also have the cheaper model available, which is also likely to be pretty popular.

The Performance Model Y comes with the same upgrades we saw in the LR AWD and RWD version, but add things like a performance tuned suspension, staggered 21” wheels, sport seats, unique front and rear bumper and a few other goodies. It does come with a premium of $8,500 over the AWD, and clocks in at 3.3 seconds 0-60. Another great improvement over the previous generation is the range, which now is an estimated EPA range of 306 miles.
