Meet the YANGWANG U9 Xtreme—an all-electric hypercar evolved from the U9 to chase “fastest production car” glory with a headline 2220 kW (3019 PS) from four upgraded motors that spin to 30,000 rpm and deliver 555 kW per corner. This enabled reaching a scorching 496 km/h (308 mph). It rides on a new 1200 V electrical architecture which incorporates BYD’s Blade Battery (LFP) tuned for an extraordinary 30C discharge (single-cell power density up 170% vs. 800 V), ~700 kW peak regen, and even ~1800 kW output at 20% SOC—all while cutting heat generation up to 67% at equal power. In this video, we’ll discuss three major questions:
What is the Yangwang U9X’s theoretical top speed?
What’s so special about 30,000 RPM motors?
What does a 30C battery discharge rate enable?
