Join us in our Ford F-150 Lightning for a full 300+ mile scenic EV loop from Bangor, Maine out to the easternmost point of the contiguous US, through Lubec, past Wild Blueberry Land, and into Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor — all (mostly) on a single charge.

We start at the Hollywood Casino hotel in Bangor, taking advantage of their bank of Tesla Wall Connectors (with a NACS→J1772 adapter) to add over 110 kWh of free overnight energy. I walk through the charging setup, show live battery data via OBD (pack kWh, real SoC vs displayed SoC, temps, and estimated range), and plan the whole loop in A Better Routeplanner to see if we can pull the day off without DC fast charging.

From there we grab Dunkin, head to Quoddy Head State Park (the easternmost point), check out the lighthouse and views over to Campobello Island, then roll into Lubec for small-town coastal vibes. After a disappointing stop at a closed Wild Blueberry Land, we push toward Acadia and Bar Harbor, including a real-world look at pricing and power at the new Acadia Gateway Center ChargePoint DC fast chargers. I break down cost per kWh, session fees, current limits, and how much we actually needed to comfortably get back to Bangor without a supercharger stop.

We wrap up in Bar Harbor with dinner and ice cream, then drive back to Bangor and arrive at the hotel with 8% state of charge. I share full trip stats (310.7 miles, 2.3 mi/kWh, remaining kWh in the pack, pack temperature range) and Bethany gives her honest take on Lubec, Acadia, and why you should plan Cadillac Mountain timed entry better than we did. If you’re into real-world EV road trips, F-150 Lightning efficiency, Maine travel, or hotel charging setups, this one’s for you.
