Cybercab Castings! Roof Solar Panels & N Site Steel Assembly! 21 Apr 2025 Giga Texas Update(07:55AM)

From Joe Tegtmeyer.

Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, Cyber Truck the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot production happens in 2025!

Another gorgeous day to fly at Giga Texas and we may have a bit of big news from my flight near the casting machine section! I believe I saw several dozens of Cybercab castings, certainly these were not Model Y or Cybertruck and if true, would be a great indication that initial test construction this summer, as per Lars Moravy is looking much more possible! I think this would be outstanding news for Tesla if what I saw is in fact related to Cybercab initial production line testing!

In the video introduction, not only do I discuss the new castings, along with what appears to be Giga Press parts arriving in a trailer truck with the canvas “roof” section pulled aside, I also talk about seeing more LR RWD Cybertrucks and the large movement of new vehicles off site over the weekend, as the outbound lot was nearly empty this morning ahead of production ramping back up following the Easter weekend.

Another big topic of discussion in the intro today is the upcoming 22 April (tomorrow) Tesla 1st Quarter Financial Results and company update meeting here at Giga Texas. This is the first time a company update has been added onto the financial results meeting, so it will be very interesting what we might hear about tomorrow. You can watch the presentation via a link on the Tesla Investors Relations website.

The final update in the video introduction is a reminder I will be travelling to Kennedy Space Center later this week to participate in the Florida Tesla Owners Club Space Jam event. In addition to doing tours and enjoying the various events, I’ll be presenting a discussion about the importance of on-orbit refilling to out near term (next 10 or so years) of space missions and programs, drawing comparisons to how aviation began to grow larger in the 1920’s. This draws on both my background studying space, orbital mechanics and my two Master’s Degrees in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, but also my background as a KC-135 tanker pilot. I’m looking forward to this discussion and the event!

A few other highlights to look for in the video:

Trenching along River Road from the east to the west continues, with much of the exposed and open trenches where conduit was installed now covered back over. The end of the trench currently is near the fork in the road statue and may continue under the road and to the smaller caisson in that general area.

Along the west berm and near the central highway, crews continue trenching and installing treated water pipes and on the north end, some electrical conduit. I think we will see this trenching and pipe installation eventually connecting to the south smaller caisson, but that will be something I watch to see if this actually happens.

On the north construction site, it looks like crews had the Easter weekend off but are now getting the two large cranes ready to begin more steel assembly of the new facility. It still appears this facility will be one story tall, btu the work is moving from the south to the north and there is over 95% of the overall structure yet to be assembled, so we shall see if this initial heigh is maintained throughout.

A lot more to see in the images and talk about today in the main video! I want to remind you again this is my last Giga Texas video until next week because of my trip to Kennedy Space Center.
