The Nismo name is a storied one in the world of Japanese motorsport and performance cars. So, when there’s a new car wearing the badge, it’s a big deal.

This is the latest, and to Brits there’s added importance as not many Nismo models come to the UK. The Ariya Nismo is a tuned electric SUV that has 430bhp and a trick four-wheel drive system.

It’s priced from £56,630 (at the time of filming), and has all the styling details you might expect from a hot Nissan. But does it deliver the driving experience? I borrowed one to find out.
