On June 3, 2025, a cargo ship transporting over 3,000 vehicles, a significant portion of which were electric and hybrid models, caught fire in the Pacific Ocean. This forced all 22 crew members to evacuate the vessel. As of Wednesday, the fire is still active, and salvage operations are in progress.
