From Mach-E VLOG.
On August 11th, at the Louisville Assembly Plant, we were there when Jim Farley and Ford announced both the Ford Universal EV Platform and the Ford Universal EV Production System.

The Ford Universal EV Platform will allow Ford to make several different EVs and the first will be a mod-size truck in 2027 for $30,000. The EV truck will have the interior room of a RAV4 and as quick as a Mustang EcoBoost.
After the EV truck, this new platform could be used on a multitude of vehicle types including an SUV or commercial van.
But you could argue that an even bigger part of the "Model T Moment" was the Ford Universal EV Production System. Ford, the company that brought assembly line production to the auto industry over 100 years ago, is now going to try something completely different. The new Ford EVs will be built in 3 parts – front, middle, and rear. This will mean easier and quicker vehicle builds.
We were there at the event in Louisville, Kentucky, and give you our immediate reaction right after the announcement. Plus, we got to speak with Governor Andy Beshear about what this means for the state. We also talked with the teardown titan, Sandy Munro, and got his thoughts about the "Model T Moment." And lucky for us, Jim Farley stopped in to say ‘hello’ at that exact moment!
We also took some time to provide a bit more analysis a bit later after we got to digest all of the information Ford had just provided. It was a lot to take in and we will be following up with even more coverage soon!
