Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and in 2025, the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot!
So many big stories and news items for Tesla this week, it is hard to know what to cover, while Giga Texas itself has many big news & developments underway today!

Tesla’s Robotaxi app is now available to all iOS users in the US. You can join the waitlist in the app. Tesla says robotaxi access expanding soon. Android coming later. The demand for this was so high, not only did Tesla’s App system get overwhelmed, but in 1-day, the Robotaxi App became the 5th most downloaded App, surpassing Google, and the #1 travel-related App on the Apple App Store!
The new Delivery Center nears completion, with the TESLA letters on the north wall above the glass entrances, a small test track for kids along with at least 4 mini Cybertrucks to drive, a Cybercab display, new parking spaces & much more! The outbound lot test track was relocated, and the new wash station was busy cleaning cars!
Due to high Model Y orders, Giga Texas was in production today, with new Model Y’s exiting the factory at a rate of about 1 per minute and then autonomously driving over to the EOL facility for final processing. Transport trucks were busy loading up vehicles
Tesla released the 2025 Proxy Statement which includes Elon Musk’s new compensation package with 12 new tranches of both market cap & specific product milestones which, if all are satisfied will bring Tesla to a market cap over $8.5 billion! This is an extremely aggressive & challenging set of metrics to achieve!

I also provide an update on my schedule for next week as I will be in Florida on Friday, 12 September through Monday, 15 September for the Florida Tesla Owners Group Teslacon event in Orlando. Because of this, I will not be flying next Friday (12 Sep) or Monday (15 Sep) at Giga Texas.
A few other highlights to look for today include:
New test track for EOL is now operational, which allows for the original one on the west side of the EOL to be relocated to allow parking for the Delivery Center
There were many huge crate deliveries to the 4680 & structural pack area of the factory today, which is yet another great data point as to how the interior preparations are going to support the Cybercab production, which is expected to begin later this year and then ramp up next year.
The melt plant recycling operations were underway, with a lot of scrap aluminum wheels and other items ready for movement into the furnaces for melting. A second furnace loading machine is coming soon, as the parts for it have arrived and just need assembling.
At the electrical switchyard, crews were busy in multiple locations. We see concrete pump trucks at work pouring concrete into one of the two transformer bases, while vault backfilling continues nearby.
Progress with Cortex 2 facility continues, with exterior walls, receiving & normal door openings being framed out & work on the perimeter grade beam on the east side. There was noticeable ground slab utilities trenching going on inside the structure in several locations and new dirt ramps for entry on the west side where the perimeter grade beam is higher
