Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and in 2025, the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot!
Today was a big day for Tesla worldwide and at Giga Texas and it coincided with my return to flying after a week at Starbase for Starship Flight 10. There was a invite-only event primarily for first responders, military & for people new to Tesla along with a Pro Team Demo that allowed for factory tours, maintenance demonstrations and FSD test drives, along with merchandise & the opportunity to talk with many in the senior leadership on down at Giga Texas.
I was fortunate to have been invited to attend, and I really enjoyed all the conversations along with a specialized tour with the plant manager, including a trip through the Cybertunnel, inspection of the west outbound lot, EOL facility & more, as well as a nice tour of the main factory. I will be releasing a separate video about that, but I did include some images from the even into this video so you get some idea of the activities.

In the video introduction, I briefly discuss my trip to and video of the Tesla Lithium plant near Corpus Christi, Texas where we saw a long line of truck deliveries of the raw Spodumene Concentrate 6 and an operational factory production some Lithium Hydroxide which is a key input ingredient here at the Giga Texas Cathode plant to make the cathode material used in the 4680 battery production.
I also recap my time at Starbase, including some reaction shots during the launch and an amazing video from SpaceX of the landing in the Indian Ocean.
Finally, we discuss some Tesla news from around the world today, including the unveiling of the new Performance Model Y in the Middle East and Europe, the Cybertruck going on sale in South Korea, and FSD (Supervised) going out to customers in Australia, the first right-hand drive country getting Tesla’s FSD software. I also discuss the invite only event today as an overview of what to expect.
For the flight today, a lot to see and get caught back up on in the week I was at Starbase. The W outbound lot and EOL facility shows operational changes which relocated the employee parking lot, repurposed the south parking lot for new vehicle staging and a new concrete addition on the north side of the EOL facility which will be for a future (soon) public event space … stay tuned for more details about this!
Much of the production line equipment in the southwest staging yard we have seen delivered over the past few weeks has now been moved into the factory for installation into the Cybercab production line, and the quantity of equipment is noticeably less than one week ago. This is overall very positive news as this means a lot of progress is happening inside the factory getting the lines ready.
I did note many new transformers have arrived at the west staging lot, once again increasing the number of transformers being stored at Giga Texas to well over 100.
The switchyard underground vault concrete work is completed, and two control trailers have been placed on top. The connecting tunnel between the two vaults still has no conduit or the top concrete slabs yet. Nearby, two excavations for two huge transformers was underway, with one having rebar installed … these two projects will serve as the base for the transformers and a catch basin for cooling oil.
