I did two very long Robotaxi rides today in the newly expanded area and will post some of the videos on Patreon so you can see what it was like. Because of that, my Giga Texas video was a little shorter than normal because I had to get back to San Antonio for a birthday party later this evening for my great niece who becomes a teenager today!

In the video introduction, I discuss a long-time mystery set of large equipment that has been stored on the west side material staging yard for quite some time and the final resolution which involves a transfer between Giga Texas and Giga Nevada and Semi Truck production!

Thanks to Zangeler (@HinrichsZane on X) who does drone flights over Giga Nevada, we have visual evidence of this connection & these stamping press parts are now for sure production equipment for the Semi.

These parts have been staged at Giga Texas for about 20 months (early December 2023 they started to arrive), and I have a theory as to what may have happened. I think these were initially ordered and then fabricated to support Semi production at Giga Texas as that was the original plan.

However, things changed and the decision was made to shift Semi production to Giga Nevada sometime in late 2022 or early 2023, This happened well after the parts were ordered, but well before Giga Nevada plans had been finalized.

Because the decision was originally made to bring them to Giga Texas, when they were ready for shipping from the supplier, Tesla decided to bring them to Giga Texas anyway and store them here for ~20 months until the time was right to send them to the new Semi production factory next to Giga Nevada.
