From News Coulomb.
I wanted to get this out there because I keep hearing references to an interview where GM CEO Mary Barra confirmed that the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt would have 300 miles of range, but I still have not been able to find the actual interview. If anyone has a link or source for the actual interview, please let me know.
Based on Barra’s statement, I also elaborate on how that would impact the DC fast charging speeds of the new Bolt, with the worst-worst-case scenario being a 1 C charging rate that would charge from 10% to 80% in about 40-45 mins. It’s still possible that GM could opt for a faster charging battery, but my guess is that it will be a 1.5 to 2 C charging rate, with a 10% to 80% charging time of around 25 minutes.
Also, I wanted to discuss pushback I’ve received on my prediction that the new Chevy Bolt will be built on the BEV3 platform. To me, it seems that transitioning from BEV2 to BEV3 would be a logical step, even for a mild refresh; however, some people seem convinced that GM is sticking to the BEV2 chassis.
I look forward to your thoughts on the matter!
