This is the Skoda Kodiaq vRS!
It’s the ‘hot’ version of Skoda’s family-friendly 7-seater SUV. The question is, if you’re in the market for a performance car but need room for the kids, should you consider this new vRS? Let’s take a closer look.
In terms of the design, it’s still relatively similar to the standard Kodiaq, with a few minor updates. Up top, you have a black grille, a more aggressive lower bumper, side breathers, and of course, some vRS badging. Along the side, there are new 20” alloy wheels, as well as contrasting mirrors and window surrounds. At the back, there’s a full-length reflector strip, an aggressive rear bumper, and larger, exaggerated exhaust surrounds.
On the inside, the design largely mirrors the standard car, with a few minor differences. There’s a 3-spoke steering wheel, red stitching throughout the cabin, and red colouring on the digital dials. There are comfortable, body-hugging sports seats, as well as aluminium pedals. Being the vRS, it also comes with the top-of-the-range large infotainment screen.
Under the bonnet, you’ll find the same 2-litre 4-cylinder turbo as found in the VW Golf GTI. It produces 265hp and 400Nm, as well as all-wheel drive.
The new Kodiaq vRS starts from £53,690. So is it worth it? And more importantly, does it offer enough performance to encourage you to splash the cash over the standard car? Stick with Mat to see for yourself!
