Study says using public EV chargers is still much cheaper than paying for gas
A recent UK trial shows that using public EV chargers with dynamic pricing—especially during low-demand periods—can cost drivers as little as 9–14p per mile, making it cheaper than petrol in 13–17p/mile range. By aligning charging to renewable energy availability and shifting pricing strategies, public charging can rival or beat petrol costs even for those without home chargers.
