Sunrise Production! Switchyard equipment & Crash Testing! 13 August 2025 Giga Texas Update (06:55AM)

From Joe Tegtmeyer.

Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and in 2025, the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot!

A beautiful sunrise this morning, but truth be told, I was trying to get a predawn flight in, but traffic on I-35 including a big accident delayed my arrival too much, so instead, we get sunrise views! The early lighting did give us a great view of the End-of-Line (EOL and outbound lot where many cars had lights flashing with updates and testing as production was already moving along with the new production shift hours.

In the video introduction, I show a unique gift from Giga Berlin, which is a piece of castings fashioned into a heart with a Tesla logo on it. I also got another orange Giga Berlin vest! These were gifts form Peter Hostettler, a Patreon of mine from Switzerland who recently completed a vacation trip to the USA and got some Robotaxi rides with me while he was in Austin. Very cool!

In the video, we check out the far southwest staging yards where more production line equipment was arriving, but there was a noticeable increase of materials moving from here to the east side of the factory and being moved inside for installation quickly! I take this as a great sign, as crews are rapidly completing production lines for the Cybercab.

On the south side of the Cyberpond, the “Fork” statue new base and trenching for electrical conduit seemed to be making fast progress, along with trenching along the south side of River Road.

On the north end, trenching along the south side of Tesla Road continues, and the conduit installation in these trenches seemed to be progressing well. We are still waiting for the move from the old temporary office trailers of employees and operations to the new trailers, and it is likely this trenching and conduit installation is the reason why this has not yet happened.

Further north, crews were busy finishing the forms, rebar and other work ahead of the concrete pour for the roof. In addition, the concrete connecting tunnel that joins the old and the new vault was getting seam sealant installed to ensure this tunnel was watertight.

The switchyard expansion area was getting final grading work completed while on the north end, we see electrical equipment has begun deliveries and stockpiling ahead of the vertical construction, which should begin soon. Once completed, the expansion will appear as a mirror image of the original switchyard.

Cortex 2.0 walls, roofing & new steel material deliveries are apparent today, with roofing progressing from the south to the north. The three fenced off staging yards on the east side are beginning to accumulate building materials, while the earthwork on the west side continues. It is worth pointing out the west perimeter grade beam is higher than the east side, so it is possible the overall grade on this side of Cortex 2.0 will be raised over time.

Finally, the crash testing facility was very busy today, with a red Model Y having just completed testing and employees were doing post-crash analysis on it. The roof was crushed, the airbags visibly deployed, and the driver’s door was missing.
