Let’s dive into the 2025 Tesla Model S and Model X refresh! As a longtime Tesla fan who has owned multiple S and X models, I truly do LOVE these incredibly solid, proven cars for their performance and tech—perfect for our Florida road trips from CT. But does the 2025 refresh live up to the hype?
Spoiler: it’s a mixed bag!
I like the new dynamic ambient lighting, front bumper camera (finally!), double-pane glass, supposedly comfier seats, and slightly improved suspension. The range is up a tad (Model S: 410 EPA miles, Model X: EPA 352 miles), but that’s where the excitement fades. No massaging seats, no heads-up display, no performance or charging upgrades, and—frustratingly—no turn signal stalks like the Model Y. These minor updates feel like Tesla dusted off an old bottle, slapped on a $5,000 price hike (Model S ~$84,990, Model X ~$91,630), and called it a refresh. It’s a rolling oxymoron—amazing cars, underwhelming update. Buckle up as we break down the pros, cons, and consider whether these EVs are worth the price. Are the Model S/X still kings of the road, or are rivals like Lucid Air & Gravity (among others) stealing the crown? Let me know in the comments if you think Tesla has done enough with this update…
