Tesla Model Y and Model 3 have been lacking any real incentives since the beginning of 2025. Referral credits were cut in half, inventory discounts pretty much disappeared, and interest rates ballooned. But now, Tesla has made some moves over the past week that make the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y much more appealing.

Tesla has for most of the year now had the referral program at $250. However, that was slashed and only the referrer will get the $250, while the new owner will only get FSD for 3 months. This change has significantly reduced the incentives available for new purchases via referrals.

That said, after the Launch Series Model Y was sold out, Tesla started sending out invites via email to old Model Y owners. Although there doesn’t seem to be a definitive way to tell the qualifications, early Model Y owners started getting an offer of $2,000 off the new Model Y, This is a pretty solid incentive and the first time Tesla has done anything for Model Y Loyalty. In addition, you can also combine this $2k with the Military program, which gets you $1k off as well.

Leasing this quarter has done some new and interesting things. For Model 3, you can lease with $0 Down, $349/mo on the LR RWD Model 3. This is only for 24 months though and to jump to 36, the payment goes to $399. Over on the Model Y, the Lease deal is $459/mo and requires a $1k downpayment for the LR RWD version. For the LR AWD, you would be looking at $499/mo, but the Model Y comes standard at 36 months, 10k miles per year. Finally over on the Cybertruck, the Dual Motor lease incentive is $799/mo with $5,000 down, and this is also a 36 month lease.

For interest rates, you can get 0% for 60 months on Cybertruck, 0.99% for 72. For Model 3, 0% for 60 months and 0.99% for 72. For Model Y, the only interest rate incentive is on the LR AWD, which gets 1,99% up to 72 months. No other interest rates are available for other trims or longer terms.

Finally, and probably the most important of all the incentives this quarter, is that FSD transfer is back. You can transfer FSD from any Tesla you own to a new vehicle, and you do not have to trade that vehicle in. This allows those who have already paid for FSD in the past to transfer that to a new vehicle with newer hardware without having to pay a large sum up front again.

It is important to note that although the EV Tax Credit is qualified for both the Model Y and the Model 3, all trims, the risk of the $7,500 Point of Sale credit going away is very high. This next quarter may be the last 3 months we have this credit available, so that is likely to become a more important factor as the year drags on.
