This is the all-new BMW iX3 – and it might be BMW’s most important car EVER!
It’s the first car built on the Neue Klasse architecture, with an all-electric version of the Three Series coming up next. So let’s take a closer look at the car.
Up front the most notable feature is the illuminated kidney grille, but given it’s an electric car, this is only used to hide the drivers assistance tech. Either side of the front end are air breathers to help with air flow, while the bonnet is also recessed, again to help with air flow. Along the side you’ll find alloys wheels that go up to 22-inches, pop out door handles, and proper door mirrors – no cameras here! At the back, the car is slightly wider than the front, once again to help with aero. There are large, long tail lights and a rear diffuser – although we’re not sure it does much!
Step inside and the iX3 has a super futuristic design. There’s a heads up display, which stretches across the length of the windscreen, showing all key driving data & important information you need while driving. On the dash there’s a huge infotainment screen which features BMW’s new iDrive system, and the cabin is made of soft touch, recycled materials. All-in, it’s a super nice car to travel in!
The BMW iX3 is equipped with a large 108kWh battery, which is good for a range of up to 500 miles on a full charge! It can also charge up to 400kW using DC fast chargers – this gives you 230 miles of range in just 10 minutes!
The iX3 comes with two motors – one on each axel. It comes with 470hp and 645Nm of torque. That’s over 70hp and 60Nm more than the X3 M50!
So what do you think – is this the best SUV BMW has ever made? You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself!
