We’re still at the IAA in Munich, and this time I take a closer look at the upcoming Volkswagen ID.Cross – VW’s new compact electric SUV based on the MEB+ platform (ID.2 / ID.Polo base).

Battery options: 40 kWh & ~60 kWh
Front-wheel drive, 155 kW motor
Charging: DC fast charging (details to come), AC standard
21-inch wheels on the concept
Matrix LED headlights & light animations
Frunk: 25 L
Interior: 13" infotainment screen + 10–11" driver display
Size: longer than ID.2, shorter than ID.3, but wider & taller
Market premiere: Summer 2026
The ID.Cross is designed as an urban EV SUV – more space than an ID.2, but cheaper and lighter than VW’s larger models like the ID.4 or ID.7 Tourer.
