1st Qtr Ends! Welcome Center, N Footings & Cathode Roof Fix! 31 Mar 2025 Giga Texas Update (08:15AM)

From Joe Tegtmeyer.

Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and in 2025, the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot!

I just got back from an awesome weekend in Tennessee while I was at the Chattanooga Charge Tesal event! So many great people, events, speaker panel discussions, product demonstrations, test drives & and epi light show to symbolize the best qualities of the Tesla communities!

For today’s flight, I wanted to check out areas of the most change since my last flight 5 days ago, and we do see progress on many fronts! Most notable was how empty the outbound lot was considering how full it was just 5 days ago … hopefully many of those vehicles made their way to customers over the weekend to help round out the 1st quarter of 2025!

Caisson tunneling operations on the southwest side continues, with more and more of the concrete liners being lowered into the caisson and then set up for the hydraulic rams to push them further into the tunnel bore. The destination caisson for the tunnel was still under construction this morning, with an excavator in the bottom clearing out rock and soil so the next ring can be added to sink the caisson further into the ground.

On the northwest side near Tesla Road, a lot of progress has been made preparing the site for the future Welcome Center for Tesla. The overall grade is being raised on one side and lowered on the other to try and get it level and ready for construction to begin. I do believe crews will need to truck in a lot of fill dirt to bring the overall grade up to a level surface, so there are several more weeks ahead of this part of the project.

At the new Megapack site, a crane was lifting steel beams into place to for a raised platform on the north end of the Megapack site in preparation for electronic equipment installation. We should start seeing deliveries of the Megapacks themselves soon.

On the east side of the electrical switchyard, crews were busy filling in the old pond to level up the grade ahead of the electrical switchyard expansion. Once completed, this will double the overall electrical capacity of the switchyard which should allow for full production in the factory and all the added production equipment for new lines, but also, enough to power the two Cortex Datacenters.

Finally, the north construction site is making a lot of progress with piles, footings and now perimeter grade beam construction. A new temporary workshop and/or warehouse has been added to the south side of the construction site, with 5 receiving doors to allow easy movement of equipment and materials inside and out.
