Much like Britain’s Royal Family, the DB12 has a whole lot of German DNA. No, seriously, this one has an AMG V8 beating under the hood, and that’s a fantastic thing. Even better? Aston left the Mercedes transmission at the Mercedes factory and opted for a ZF 8-speed instead. I always suspected that Mercedes would be better off buying a ZF than making their own transmissions, and now we know for sure. But about that Aston: it’s fantastic… If you can afford one, which I can’t.
