The GMC Sierra is coming into 2026 with not 1 but 2 new trim levels as well 2 new battery options! What does this mean? It means a lot of choice, a lower starting price, and trims to better match your specific wants and needs. Now starting at $64,495 you can get the Elevation trim with the Standard Range battery but how much range that provides remains unknown for the time being. If you want the most range you’ll find it on the Denali and AT4 Max Range battery and it’s the AT4 that we had a chance to spend some time with.
AT4 is GMC for "Off Road Capable" but in this Sierra EV it takes on a little different personality. Instead of traditional Off Road features like under body protection, rock rails, locking differentials, and a 2 speed transfer case we instead go lighter and more modern with upgraded tires, a 2 inch lift (and only available with a coil suspension), and a lot of software to make this more capable in tougher traction situations. While it’s a lot of fun to drive and offers incredible range the question left is whether or not this is really built for Off Road use.
