From Alex on Autos.
With an MSRP, including destination, under $30,000 WITHOUT tax credits, the Bolt is back and it’s officially America’s least expensive electric runabout. But there’s a twist, this isn’t an all-new Bolt as some had assumed, instead it’s the old Bolt EUV with a few styling tweaks on the outside and an Ultium heart transplant. Under the hood we get the 210 horsepower motor from the Equinox EV, while the battery is a new LFP pack that we expect to see in other Ultium cars over time. GM also grafted the Google based infotainment and electronics into the cabin with bigger screens than before. Coming "later" will even be GM’c Supercruise system, but we’re not sure which version it will be. If you may recall, the last Botl EUV had Supercruise, but it was a prior generation of GM’s self-steering system. While the new Bolt undercuts the Nissan Leaf by a bit, it’s not a huge amount and you do get more room and more range in the Nissan. Deals? It’ll remain to be seen who puts more cash on the hood…
