Grand Tour Drone Flight around all 3,000+ Acres! 4 July 2025 Giga Texas Construction Update(07:35AM)

From Joe Tegtmeyer.

Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and in 2025, the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot!

For today, and in honor of the 4th of July holiday in the United States, I do a grand tour drone flight around most f the sprawling 3,000+ acres that makes up Giga Texas and I show you many areas not normally seen in the normal drone flights and any official videos or images provided by Tesla.

My hope is to help put into context just how much room for expansion there is at this sprawling expanse of land Telsa purchase, and to show how little of this land is under development … only about one quarter of the available space! I think there will be many years of construction ahead of us here!

To help orient the viewer to all the areas we fly to in this video, I periodically overlay maps of the site with an indicator marker showing where the drone is on the map. I’ve oriented these maps to correspond with the video to help make the correlation of location and imagery as easy as possible.

We start in the east part of the site with a long pull back to reveal the main factory, the familiar east side landmarks, the Colorado River and the large lake that is part of the expanded land available for Tesla to build out the promised ecological paradise and public areas that will ring the east, southeast, south and far south west of the site and mostly along the Colorado River.

Then, I move to the extreme far southeast showing where the current horse-riding school is located and on a 5-year lease from Tesla which is currently scheduled to terminate sometime in 2027. This site will have many new public spaces built on it by Tesla once the lease is up, and the timing of the lease termination may give us insights into when we may expect this construction to begin.

We then fly along the far south of the river, near the Sand Hill Energy plant and the under-construction expansion of the water treatment plant to explore the farthest reaches of the current water intercept system and caissons being added along the highway and along the west side of the main factory.

At the farthest southwest corner of the large property, we see the west support facility in its entirety, the large land clearing and tunneling spoils collection areas, and get a nice view from the west to the east of the main factory from a location I rarely fly the drone. As we continue to fly north along this west side, I show where there are sections of the overall property that remain fully undeveloped and where sometime in the future, Tesla may elect to construct new support facilities, including the new welcome center.

On to the extreme far north of the property, we see where the old Farmhouse (that was the main landmark in this location for decades) used to be along with a large school and sports stadium that form the farthest northeast reaches of the property, as well as the east boundary marked by the Austin Colony housing community. I show where underground pipe has been installed along the east side of the “Lone Tree” field and where the new Harold Green Road will be constructed.

We check in at the large rectangular field where a large assortment of production equipment, platform materials and support equipment were stored for many years, but now all of this is being recycled as it is excess and no longer required as plans changed, production processes matured, and new manufacturing methods made this equipment obsolete. Much of this area is emptying out, which is probably related to the city permits to construct the new Harold Green Road through part of this large field.

Finally, we end up on the far east side with a great view of the entire site, bringing us back to where it all began almost 5 years ago with the first clearing efforts of what is now a modern factory.

I hope you enjoy this tour and what we talk about during the video. Thank you for watching and for your support, and happy birthday USA!
