Batch Plant Demo, Model Y Display, & Window line Rework! 7 February 2025 Giga Texas Update (08:25AM)

From Joe Tegtmeyer.

Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, Cyber Truck the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot production happens in 2025!

Today, Giga Texas we see a lot of great things around the site. Despite the overcast skies it did give us a lot of very good diffuse lighting, so the imagery was outstanding!

Beginning over at the flag poles, we see that they had a display of some of the new model Ys. One of them was a much darker color, possibly Stealth Gray, but it was different than the Quicksilver. I got a chance to see some nice views from the top down with some reflections of the flags in the roof glass (and my drone) and it was possible to do comparisons with some of the older model Ys nearby.

At the south end for the Caissons, we see a lot of development with the Caisson on the west side of the highway by the south bridge. Crews were preparing to add another concrete ring and sink it further into the ground. It looks like they are getting close to the final depth, but I think there is at least one more ring to go.

On the east side of the south bridge, we see that that Caisson has been completed, and most of the equipment has been moved away. Going to the south side of the Colorado River, we see that the crane that had been used for the east caisson has been relocated. Crews also have moved some of the forms for another caisson and they have spread more gravel around and smoothed out the surface for the excavation for that caisson. I expect to see caisson construction here happening very soon.

Over at the west End of Line (EOL) facility and outbound lot, we see many Cybertrucks and some of the older model Ys. I have not yet seen any of the new model Ys moved over to the outbound lot for transportation, but Cybertrucks are being produced in reasonable numbers so I will continue to monitor this and hopefully soon we’ll start seeing some new model Ys showing up here for movement offsite.

Up at the electrical switch yard, we see crews are busy working on the final connections with that third transformer and near the three control rooms that are on top of the underground concrete vault.

Further to the south in the graded area, crews are continuing to work on installing the last of the plates on top of the screw type peers and finishing up some conduit in the trenches that go around the perimeter and through the middle. Just to the north of that site, a large bank of conduit has been installed into a trench with risers near the north edge of the clearing, so this indicates that we’re going to see a lot of cabling installed through the conduit for these connections in the near future.

And the final big project I would like to talk about today is the old Martin Marietta concrete batch plant. It is apparent work to do the demolition of this old facility is accelerating. We see a much larger section of the old concrete ramp being broken up and moved into trucks for movement offsite. The superstructure, tanks, some of the vertical steel and the conveyor belt systems to the hoppers are all being dismantled today. In addition, on the north and east sides more earthwork and berm removal were underway today, now significantly encroaching into what used to be the old batch plant operational area. It looks like they are continuing to lower the grade across this area to make it to even with what we see near the DIE shop.

So that’s it for today’s highlights! Please make sure you look at the entire video as there is a lot more to see and talk about!
