Castings Comparison, Transformers & Interesting deliveries! 16 June 2025 Giga Texas Update(07:55 AM)

From Joe Tegtmeyer.

Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and in 2025, the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot!

Great day to fly around Giga Texas today with bright sun, moderate temperatures and no wind. Despite the early morning start, we see production gearing back up after the weekend, most of the outbound lot empty as transport operations over the weekend moved a lot of new vehicles to the distribution centers, and of course, construction was underway all over the site.

I also captured more movement of transformers from the west side staging areas on trailer trucks and headed north on the main highway away from Giga Texas.

In the video introduction, I further discuss the side-by-side comparisons between Cybertruck and Cybercab front castings that we saw on my previous video. Some viewers could not tell that there were any differences (size, design, appearance) so I thought I’d try and make it more clear with additional information.

I labelled the two castings for easy identification and discussed the noticeable differences between the two. Fortunately, on today’s flight, I was able to get a different angle closeup view which accentuates the size differences so check that out in the main video!

I also talk about the appearance of the extraneous pieces that are remnants of the casting process, including the “biscuit” and how this is trimmed off using the DMG MORI milling machines I documented arriving and being installed inside several years ago. Finally, I provide an engineering video clip showing the casting process, how the casting appears immediately after being removed from the casting machines and why the excess needs to be trimmed off. I do hope this makes it obvious how the Cybertruck and Cybercab front castings differ and how the process works

I also show more recent images of the Robotaxi initial fleet of Model Y’s that will be part of the service kickoff less than a week from today (if the timelines mentioned by Elon Musk hold). These images show the labelling on the sides and the rear of the Model Y’s and what you can expect when one arrives after it has been hailed via the Tesla Robotaxi app.

Finally, I discuss the 1-year anniversary of Tesla formally incorporating in Texas following the. Withdrawal from Delaware incorporation. It is hard to believe a year has passed and although this chapter of Tesla has been underway for a year, there are still some lingering details and issues with the state of Delaware still impacting the company and its investors. Hopefully this will be resolved by the 2nd anniversary!
