Cybertruck’s! Perimeter Fence, Parking Garage Changes! 19 March 2025 Giga Texas Update (08:35AM)

From Joe Tegtmeyer.

Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and in 2025, the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot!

Windy day around the site, but that didn’t stop the progress! Cybertruck production seems to be ramping back up with somewhere around 350 to 400 Cybertrucks in the east temp storage lot and the west outbound lots, with more exiting the factory today!

The new Model Y production seems to be ticking up as well, with many transport trucks ready to load up and move off site about as quickly as more Model Ys arrive at the outbound lot. We are starting to see more Model Ys in the outbound lot too, with about 100 to 150 visible today … not quite as high as I would like to see but moving in the right direction!

In the video introduction, not only do I highlight the Cybertruck and Model Y production ramp, I also discuss the installation of some of the last large glass panels on the south extension, and what appears to be a drive path through the width of the extension, near where the Boring Company tunnel entrance is (and where Cybertrucks enter the tunnel inside to travel to the outbound lot) and then exits on the west side.

This likely allows delivery of the steel & aluminum coils that are used with the stamping machines to make body parts of various vehicles.

I also discuss some of the many deliveries of production equipment that is arriving and being moved inside on both the south side of the main factory and near the 4680 section closer to the north. Additional wind and concrete wall panels have been removed along the west side of the factory to allow even more equipment to be moved inside the upper floors, once they are needed. Overall, there are at least a half-dozen such openings along the entire west side to accommodate more production equipment deliveries.

Finally, I discuss the new perimeter fence being installed along the west side of the site near the housing complex that borders Tesla’s property. This adds more security to the overall site and is being installed along where berm and water management culverts have been recently added along the south and west sides of the area where the outbound lot and west warehouse on wheels (WOW) yard is located.

A few other highlights to look for today include:

The multi-level parking garage has had the 6th floor openings blocked off with privacy fencing, and this extends to the roof vehicle ramps and ramp "windows". This is in addition to the privacy fencing erected around the east side ground floor several months ago. This is likely to allow more pre-production product development and/or preparations for the upcoming summer Robotaxi service in and around the City of Austin.

The north construction site grade and auger work is nearing the point where footing construction can begin. Crews continue to assemble more footing rebar cages in anticipation of the footing excavation work that should begin soon, while a perimeter road surface is taking shape, consistent with the site plan documents we previously discussed.

Site drainage is being managed not eh north end with a small trench leading to an existing pond, while on the south end bear the DIE ship, the underground water management system assembly continues which will eventually join the new construction site to the existing Cathode Plant complex and the water filtration pond on the east side of the cathode plant.

More work at the new Megapack site including conduit installation along the cable trays down the middle, four rectangular concrete pads on the north, and more conduit in buried trenches extending to the south end of the electrical switchyard.
