How Tesla’s latest software update improves older Model 3 and Model S EVs and why it matters for every EV owner as well. Tesla just rolled out software update 2025.32.2, and it includes an improvement that directly benefits older Teslas with Intel-based media control units. That’s right, not just the shiny new cars with AMD chips, but the ones many of you have been driving for years. And here’s what it does:
Until now, when Intel-based cars were shifted into reverse, the driver visualization—the little on-screen rendering of what the car sees around it—would drop back to a simpler, stripped-down version. In contrast, newer AMD-powered Teslas kept the full Full Self-Driving visualization, even in reverse. Well, with this new update, those Intel cars are finally catching up. You can now put your Tesla in reverse and still see the full, detailed visualization, just like you do when driving forward.
Now, I know what you might be thinking: So what? It’s just a visualization. But here’s why this matters, and why it’s worth a closer look.
