Major New Construction, Prod Equip Arrival & Window Line Fix! 10 Feb 2025 Giga Texas Update(07:55AM)

From Joe Tegtmeyer.

Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, Cyber Truck the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot production happens in 2025!

Low clouds, rising vapors off the roof & cooling plant, some mist & much colder, but otherwise, another great day to fly with many big developments, especially on the north end where the old Martin Marietta concrete batch plant is rapidly being disassembled & the grade prepared for major new construction.

Starting with caisson construction on the south end, there are big developments on the west side of the south bridge and south of the Colorado River.

The new caisson construction south of the river shows the first circular excavation with forms are now in place and preparation work for the rest of the forms to allow the first ring of concrete to be poured and then begin the sinking process. trucks were delivering rebar for the caisson this morning was well.

Moving to the north of the river, the largest caisson is getting the final ring ready for concrete pour … this will allow the final sinking process to occur to bring the entire underground structure to the final 40-foot (or about 12 meter) depth.

A big development was happening farther to the west at the material staging yard with a lot of stored production line equipment. We see crews unwrapping several of these modular cabinets and then moving them onto yard trucks which then delivered these items to the west side of the south end of General Assembly for movement inside and then installation … much of these items will be installed not eh 3rd floor near the glass where I was able to see a nearly complete new mezzanine level and some of the plastic wall material was being removed.

On the north end, the renovated old temporary batch plant is now fully ready to begin operations, with materials delivered, washout bays ready, the lined pond partially filled, and parking lot filled for employees. This is perfect timing as the old batch plans demolition is proceeding rapidly!

The electrical switchyard did not have much activity today within the fenced off section, but to the south, crews were continuing to prepare the new Megapack site for further assembly. center-dump trucks were delivering top fill dirt on the west side, almost all conduit in trenches appear completed, all beams welded to the pile cap plates and overall, the site looks ready for electrical equipment deliveries.

The old Martin Marietta concrete plant disassembly work is moving rapidly, and we now know the main plant components (tanks, superstructure, conveyor systems, etc… are being carefully removed for re-use elsewhere instead of full-scale demolition.

Much of the old concrete apron has now been removed except for the concrete under the remaining plant steel items. earthwork is expanding to the west, north and east sides, and the lined pond is now almost completely dry. This will allow the liner removal and then the south side will get final grading work.

Overall, the entire grade will be flat and level to what we see at the DIE shop and at the new Megapack site, likely with roads and connections throughout this entire area and around the new construction that will begin soon.

Lots more to see including Cybercab testing, Baghouse Filtration Plant assembly, paint racks for both the new and old Model Y’s, LiDAR testing on the roof of the multi-level parking garage and more!
