Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and in 2025, the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot!
Today I was able to fly well before the sun came up. Offering night views around the east side of the factory, including the cathode plant and crash testing facility and most of the length of the east side of the main factory. These views are rare and offer a glimpse into more of what is going on inside the factory with the installation and assembly of all the equipment that has been arriving lately … the amount of work inside is significant and will support new products, particularly the Cybercab!

In the short video introduction, I talk about the night flight and the views that we get to see today, along with a discussion of the large number of vehicles in the west outbound lot, with Tesla employees busy getting both Model Y’s and Cybertrucks through their final testing processes and loaded up on transport trucks. I noted many of these trucks loaded up and departing the site today.
Another big development today was many more trucks lining up at the southwest staging yard with more production items, equipment, crated items and materials. These items included silver-wrapped items that usually indicate robotic assembly machine and crates with automation equipment. This continues weeks of this happening, and the impact of this is noticeable with all the items staged here, now dominating the entire west side of the yard!
A few highlights to look for today include:
Work at the electrical switchyard where crews continue to make progress connecting the two underground vaults via a conduit tunnel, new vault roof forms, rebar and prep for concrete and more fill material around the walls of the new vault. Nearby, the graded section where the switchyard expansion will be built appears finished, and now we see steel materials, equipment and V-type circuit breakers are being delivered, which suggests footings and then vertical assembly is about to commence.
The new Cortex 2 exterior wall work continues, along with more progress on the roofing material installation. Inside, we see some work on a small retaining wall on the first column line on the west side and some ground slab prep work. This matches up with the perimeter grade beam which suggests we may see fill dirt brought in at some point to raise the grade on this side of the building. The small retaining wall on the south end also suggests a grade change.
