The Tesla Cybertruck has been used by many as the ultimate overloading, off roading and camping machine. With access to the onboard 123 kWh battery pack via 240v outlets in the bed, the possibilities are endless.
We have done quite a bit of camping and road tripping in our Cybertruck, and after driving all the way to the Arctic Ocean, I started looking very seriously at truck bed campers that may work for the Cybertruck. The problem? Traditional truck bed campers don’t accommodate the Cybertrucks design.
So an industry was created around the bed of the Cybertruck. We have seen prototypes of $100k+ campers, $60k options, and more, but after spending upwards of $70k on the truck, that is a lot of money to spend on a camper.
There is just one other major issue with truck bed campers, and that is space. Because of the design of the Camp 365 T Model, the floor is actually above the wheel wells, instead of between them. That means that your floor space is no longer limited to that roughly 4 foot of space. Finding a truck bed camper that can accommodate a family of 4 is quite challenging, but this folding design camper gives huge space and flexibility for all campers.
The biggest issue with campers and EV’s is range. Although there are $100k+ solutions out there, none of these are practical for most people. This design collapses into an aerodynamic design rather than keeping the full unit exposed to aero drag. The results mean your range isn’t punished so much that camping isn’t appealing, and you dont break the bank doing so.
After extensive testing before and after the aero cover designed by Camp 365, the results are about the same as when our Cybertruck is fitted with the rack and rooftop tent we usually have on the truck. This equates to about 220 miles real world range at 70 mph. This is so much better than the nearly 100 miles when towing a large trailer!
Combining the convenience of Tesla Supercharging network, not having to unhook to charge, access to the Cybertrucks large battery capacity, and flexibility to remove this camper when not using makes this the ultimate truck bed camper, not just for Cybertruck, but for ALL trucks with at least 41" wheel well space.
