The Times newspaper has been made to issue a correction regarding its reporting on electric vehicle (EV) sales, following a rare successful complaint to the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO) by an anti-misinformation group.
China may be pumping out electric vehicles at an absurd clip, but when it comes to actual adoption rates, Norway is the clear global leader. After three decades of progressive policies promoting EVs and telling fossil fuel-powered vehicles to get lost, 88.9 percent of Norway’s new car sales in 2024 were electric.
Norway Could Become the First Country With All Electric Vehicles
Following the fourth successive global monthly record of passenger car and light-duty EV sales, 17.1 million units were sold in 2024. December 2024 resulted in over 1.9 million EV units sold, a growth of 5% on the previous month’s record, and all major regions grew monthly and yearly in December 2024. Overall, global EV sales grew by 25% in 2024 compared to 2023.
As the famous saying goes, "slow and steady wins the race." That appears to be the game plan for the prolonged rollout of the Tesla Semi. The all-electric semitrailer truck is methodically targeting new markets, facilitating new production, and rolling out to new customers.
