From Joe Tegtmeyer.
On 7 October 2025, Tesla announced the newest variant of the Model Y, called the Standard Edition with the intent to offer a lower-cost vehicle that retains most of the utility and technology of the Premium Model Y, but at a lower initial purchase price and operating costs.
This new Model Y offers about 300 miles of range (at 100% charge), a new front and rear look, a cloth interior and all of the standard Tesla ecosystem capabilities, including Full Self Driving, access to the Supercharger system, and free over-the-air software updates to continually improve the capabilities and features of the car.
