AMG has had its hands on the new E-Class and created the new Mercedes-AMG E53!

It’s the most powerful version of the E-Class you can buy in 2025, but there’s a slight issue – it costs around £92,000! That’s the same price as the previous E63, and is only around £15,000 of the new BMW M5! So does it warrant the huge price tag? Let’s take a closer look.

In terms of the exterior design, there are a number of changes over the standard car. Up top there’s an upgraded grille as well as a more aggressive bumper which includes two large vents. Along the side there are black surrounds for the windows, black side skirts and black door mirrors. At the back, there’s a bootlip spoiler, an updated bumper, and a set of faux quad tailpipes.

On the inside, once again you’ll find a couple of changes over the regular E-Class. There’s an AMG steering wheel with Alcantara, as well as AMG bucket seats. The centre console is covered in carbon fibre as standard, and the edition we have here has the massive Superscreen infotainment system which even includes a screen for the passenger! Otherwise, the cabin is covered in soft touch materials throughout.

The E53 is powered by a 3-litre twin-turbo straight-six, and it also comes with hybrid power. The electric motor & engine combine to produce 585hp, or if you choose the Driver Performance Pack, 612hp.

So is the new E53 really worth north of £90,000? You’ll need to stick with Mat to see for yourself!
