September’s arrival brings the last gasps of summer, and with the stronger winds rolling down from the Coast Range foothills, the once-proud sunflowers are bowing their heads for the final time. It’s a little bittersweet – today’s chicken-and-garden update carries that familiar tinge of melancholy as the season shifts.

But not everything is ready to give up just yet! Squashes are swelling, strawberries and raspberries are still offering their sweetness, and the greenhouse soldiers on – a reminder that the garden always has a few surprises left before winter truly sets in. 🌱🍓🎃
